RANDY A. FLEISCHER, Esq. has been in private practice representing plaintiffs in employment discrimination cases since 1992. Prior to graduating the Shepard Broad School of Law at Nova Southeastern University, Mr. Fleischer suffered discrimination in employment as a manager in a major health club chain. As a pro se plaintiff, Mr. Fleischer successfully litigated his claim and settled the case. Since establishing his solo practice, he has represented victims of discrimination against federal government agencies, including the IRS, DEA and Post Office, against Florida State agencies, banks, airlines, hotels and many other corporations. He has also represented unions and employers. Mr. Fleischer has served four terms as Chair of the Broward County Human Rights Board from 2001 - 2003 and from 1997-1999 which oversees the local fair employment practice agency in Ft. Lauderdale. His leadership has moved the Broward County Human Rights Ordinance toward necessary revisions and improved the investigative and administrative procedures of that agency. Mr. Fleischer continues to sit on the board since 1994. Mr. Fleischer has extensive media appearances as a guest commentator on The Putney Perspective on WPLG-channel 10 in Miami and on live televised Town Hall Meetings in 2000 and 2001. In 2002, Mr. Fleischer hosted an internet radio show on voiceamerica.com entitled "Employee Rights vs Workplace Wrongs." Each show focused on a different topic from employment at will to the ADA, Title VII, ADR, Drug testing, polygraphs and other legal issues that affect your rights in the workplace. Mr. Fleischer has served as Regional Liason/Plaintiff's Co-Chair to the ABA-EEO Committee since 1995. He chaired the pilot program of the EEO Basics Program that has since been repeated throughout the United States. Mr. Fleischer has served three terms as Legislative Affairs Vice President and one term as Vice President for the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association. Mr. Fleischer currently serves on the National Employment Lawyers Association Affiliate Relations Committee. Mr. Fleischer previously served a Labor and Employment arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and served on the Labor and Employment Panel Selection Committee. He also served the Nova Southeastern University Academy of Dispute Resolution as an arbitrator and mediator. Mr. Fleischer has completed AAA's Employment Arbitrator training and has also completed employment arbitrator and mediator training through the ABA's Labor and Employment Section. Mr. Fleischer is active in the Democratic Party and unsuccessfully ran for Broward County Court Judge in 2006. He was elected President of the Pine Island Ridge Democratic Club in 2005 and served on the Broward County Democratic Executive Committee. He was President of the Broward Young Democrats in 2000, served as Community Affairs Vice President for the Florida Young Democrats in 1997-98 and was General Counsel for the State Organization 1999-2001. Randy was elected Delegate to the 2000 Democratic National Convention on April 1, 2000. In February 1999 he was elected Executive Vice President of the Broward County Young Democrats. He became President upon the untimely death of Bob Gross on December 11, 1999 and was re-elected to a full-term in February 2000. He also served as a member of the Broward County Democratic Executive Committee, sat on its Affirmative Action Committee and was on the GORE 2000 Steering Committee in Broward. Mr. Fleischer graduated Nova Law School in 1991 after serving as Student Bar President for a year and a half. He was also the Lt. Governor for the ABA-LSD 5th Circuit which awarded him the Bronze key for Outstanding Service. As President of the Miami Beach Jaycees in 1986-87 he was awarded the Key to the City of Miami Beach and the city's Medal of Honor. Mr. Fleischer graduated New York University in 1982. He received a Regents Diploma after graduating J.F.Kennedy H.S. in Riverdale, New York as General Organization President. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America in 1974. He has been married to Bonnie since 1986 and they have two sons, Max born in 1994 and Sam born 1999. | |||
